This year’s Junior/Senior Prom will be held Saturday, April 22, 2023 from 8:00 p.m. until 11:00 p.m. at the Anderson Conference Center located at 5171 Eisenhower Pkwy (suite D), Macon, GA. Eligibility to attend prom can be found in the student handbook. As a reminder, juniors must have 12 credit hours and seniors must have 18 credit hours at the beginning of the second semester in their original cohort.

Prom Fees:

  • Tickets will be sold beginning January 30th to Friday, March 31st. NO LATE TICKETS WILL BE SOLD.
  • If you are a SENIOR who PAID and WENT TO PROM LAST YEAR, you do not have to pay this year. You DO need to let Mrs. Jenkins know whether or not you plan to attend this year via the Google form posted in the senior classroom.
  • Please note that tickets will be sold before and after school in Mrs. Jenkins’s room (504). We can only accept CASH or CHECK payments. The infinite campus portal option is not available.
  • Refunds will not be made. We utilize funds to pay for the venue, deejay, food, lighting, invitations, and favors. If you decide not to attend, we cannot refund your money.

Dates:

  • If a student’s date does not attend Mary Persons, that student must first secure administrative approval of that guest by submitting a “Date Approval Google Form.” These forms are available in the Google classrooms. Forms are due no later than Friday, March 31, 2022. NO LATE FORMS WILL BE ACCEPTED.
  • The prom is traditionally provided for the entertainment and enjoyment of the Junior and Senior classes and their dates. Given this fact, dates from middle school or over the age of 20 will not be allowed at the Mary Persons High School Prom. Students attending Monroe County Achievement Center must be approved on an individual basis by the MPHS administration in order to attend the Prom.

As standard policy, MPHS students and non-MPHS students and guests are reminded that security will be present to ensure their safety at the Prom. Security will be provided by local law enforcement, and will enforce the rules of the Mary Persons Code of Conduct and Prom Committee. Security will escort persons under the influence of drugs or alcohol, persons inappropriately dressed, or persons disturbing the peace from the premises. Prom participants can be charged by law enforcement if illegal substances are involved. No smoking is allowed at Prom.

Tentatively, the schedule for prom evening is as follows: The Anderson Conference Center will be open to students beginning at 8:00pm, photography will end at 8:45 p.m., the program will begin at 9:00 p.m., prom king and queen will be announced at 9:45 p.m., and prom ends at 11:00 p.m. For further questions regarding prom, please contact Ms. Leeanne Griffin on the main campus at leeanne.griffin@mcschools.org.
