Kamari Ellis recommends Green Eggs and Ham by Dr. Seuss In honor of Dr. Seuss' birthday, 7th grade MCMS student, Kamari Ellis, recommends the classic Green Eggs and Ham because "it's fun, & it'll put you in a good mood." He also notes that the actual foods, green eggs & ham, are delicious so he recommends those as well. He believes that the moral of the story is interesting as the protagonist, Sam, is eating green eggs & ham and wants the other guy to try them. Instead of trying them, the guy judges them. In the end, the other guy finally tries them and enjoys them. The moral of the story is "don't judge a book by its cover" which can be applied in real life situations "like making friends. You can't judge a person by how they look. Just get to know them so maybe you will like them." Kamari gives this book a 5 out of 5!

As elementary schools across our county celebrate Dr. Seuss' birthday by dressing up, welcoming guest readers, and planning DEAR times (Drop Everything and Read), MCMS decided to also honor the author by reviewing some of the Theodor Seuss Geisel  classics. If you missed Kamari Ellis' review in The Mix this week, you can see it here. Thanks, Kamari, for reminding us all of an important lesson in this children's book, Green Eggs and Ham. #mcmsbulldogs #drseussweek #greeneggsandham #listentoyourfriends #moralofthestory #dontjudge
