On Tuesday, July 18, 2023, the Monroe County Board of Education named Lance Rackley, Jones County High School Principal, as the new Assistant Superintendent for Personnel & Operations, effective July 24, 2023.
Personnel
The Personnel Department serves the area of human resources for all employees in Monroe County Schools. This department is directly involved in all aspects of recruiting, hiring, training, and retaining the best possible candidates for the Monroe County School System.
While the Personnel Department is involved with all employees, it is the primary goal of the department to ensure the best qualified and most reliable people to work at every level within our schools and to provide a safe environment for all of our students.

Lance Rackley
Mr. Rackley started his career in business and industry, before moving to education in 2002. He earned his BBA in Business Administration as a Finance major from the University of Georgia, as well as his M.Ed. in Business Education. He obtained his Ed.S in Educational Leadership from Georgia College & State University.
Mr. Rackley is married to Laura, the Executive Director for Human Resources in Jones County Schools. They have two sons. James is a 2023 JCHS graduate and is headed to UGA this fall. John will be in the 9th grade at Jones County High School.
Mr. Rackley will fill the spot vacated by Dr. Jim Finch when he became Superintendent of Monroe County Schools.
