Hospital Homebound
Hospital Homebound (HHB) provides academic instruction to students who are confined either at home or in a health care facility for periods of time that would prevent normal school attendance. Monroe County Schools can provide academic instruction based on certification of need by a licensed physician or licensed psychiatrist who is treating the child.
HHB is for a child that has a medical diagnosis that restricts school attendance for 10 consecutive days or has a chronic illness that restricts attendance for 10 or more days over a period of time.
Contact your child’s school and speak to the school counselor for additional information. The school counselor can provide you an application to start this process.
